What "Smart" Means

A Smart Workout is a guided session that's already populated with the right values when you arrive at the gym. There's no list of exercises to scroll through, no fields to fill in from memory, and no "what did I lift last time?" guessing.

Three things make it work:

The result: you tap "Start Workout," confirm the first set, and you're training. No setup at the rack.

Starting a Workout

From the home screen, tap Start Workout. If you have a training schedule set up, the app suggests today's planned workout automatically based on the day of the week.

To set up a training schedule:

  1. Go to Settings → Training Schedule
  2. Pick a preset (Push/Pull/Legs, Upper/Lower, Full Body) or build a custom one
  3. Assign muscle groups or specific exercises to each day
  4. For each exercise, set your default sets, reps, weight, and rest time

Once your schedule is in place, the home screen always shows what's planned for today, and starting a workout takes one tap.

During the Workout

The workout flow guides you through one exercise at a time:

Everything stays on screen while you train — no toggling between tabs, no hunting for buttons. The Live Activity on your lock screen shows the current exercise and rest timer so you don't even need to unlock your phone between sets.

Swapping Exercises

If a piece of equipment is taken or you want to change things up, you can swap an exercise mid-workout. Tap the exercise name during the session and pick an alternative from the catalog. The new exercise is prefilled with your last weights and reps for that movement, just like your planned ones.

Swaps only affect this session — your underlying schedule stays the same.

Flex Workouts

If you don't have a schedule yet, or you want to do something off-plan, tap Flex Workout from the start screen instead. You can pick exercises manually as you go, and each one is still prefilled from your history.

Flex workouts log to your activity history exactly like scheduled workouts — they just don't follow a predefined plan.

After the Workout

When you finish, the app shows a summary of what you did: exercises completed, total sets, volume lifted, and time spent training. You can rate the session, add notes, and (if AI Workout Insights is enabled) get personalized feedback within a few minutes.

Your sets are immediately written to history so the next time you do that exercise, the prefilled values reflect what you just lifted.
