AI Workout Insights Guide
How the AI analyzes your training and nutrition to help you improve
1. How It Works
After you complete a workout, the app automatically sends your training data to an AI model for analysis. Here's what happens:
- You finish a workout and land on the completion screen
- The app checks that AI insights are enabled and you have remaining credits
- Your training data, nutrition history, and profile are sent to our server
- The AI analyzes your session in context of the past 4 weeks of workouts and meals
- You receive a personalized summary with optional schedule adjustment suggestions
- The insight appears as a card on your home screen and is stored with the session
If you've left the app by the time the analysis completes, you'll get a notification letting you know your insights are ready.
2. Getting Started
AI Workout Insights needs to be enabled and requires enough training history to provide meaningful feedback.
Enabling the feature:
- During onboarding, toggle on "AI Workout Insights" in the Permissions step
- Or go to Settings → AI Insights and turn on the toggle
Data gate:
The AI needs enough context to give you useful feedback. Insights activate once you've logged:
- At least 6 completed workout sessions in the past 28 days
- At least 7 days with meals logged in the past 28 days
Until both conditions are met, you'll see a progress card on the home screen showing how close you are. Keep logging your workouts and meals — the AI will activate automatically once there's enough data.
3. Reading Your Insights
When a new insight is ready, it appears as a purple card on your home screen. Tap it to see the full analysis.
Each insight includes:
- Summary — 5-6 sentences of personalized feedback about your session, referencing specific exercises, weights, and nutrition patterns
- Suggested adjustments (when applicable) — concrete changes like increasing a weight, adjusting rep count, or changing rest time
Insights are permanently stored with the session. You can revisit them anytime by opening the session in your workout log.
4. Applying Schedule Changes
When the AI suggests adjustments, you'll see an "Apply Changes to Schedule" button. Tapping it updates your training schedule with the suggested values — so next time you do that workout, the new weights, reps, or rest times are already set.
- Each suggestion shows the current value and the proposed value (e.g., "Bench Press: 80kg → 82.5kg")
- Applying is optional — you're always in control of your schedule
- You can manually undo any change by editing your training schedule in Settings
- The apply button is available for 7 days after the insight is generated. After that, the suggestions remain visible but can't be auto-applied
Not every insight includes adjustment suggestions. Sometimes the AI will confirm your current program is well-calibrated and no changes are needed.
5. Free Tier & Limits
- Free users get 5 AI insights per month, resetting on the 1st of each month
- Premium users get full access to AI insights with no monthly cap
- Your remaining count is shown in Settings → AI Insights and at the bottom of each insight
- When you've used all 5, a card on the home screen shows when your next batch refreshes
6. Privacy & Data
Here's exactly what is sent when an insight is generated:
- Profile stats — age, weight, height, sex, fitness goal, activity level
- Training schedule — your planned exercises, target sets, reps, weights, and rest times
- Recent workouts — the past 28 days of sessions with exercises, sets, reps, and weights
- Recent meals — the past 28 days of nutrition data (calories and macros)
- Body weight trend — weight entries from the past 28 days
The following are never sent:
- Your name
- Photos
- Apple ID or account information
- Device identifiers
Data is processed by OpenAI's API. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, API inputs are not used to train their models. No training data is stored on our servers.
You can disable AI insights at any time in Settings. Disabling stops all future data transmission immediately.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Troubleshooting
I'm not receiving any insights
- Make sure AI Insights is enabled in Settings
- Check that the data gate is met (6 sessions + 7 meal days in 28 days)
- Free users: check if you've used all 5 monthly insights
- Insights are generated after each completed workout — abandoned sessions don't count
The insight didn't appear after my workout
- The AI analysis can take 10-30 seconds. If you left the app quickly, check back in a minute
- If you have notifications enabled, you'll be notified when the insight is ready
- Check your internet connection — the feature requires an active connection
"Apply Changes" button is missing
- The button is only available for 7 days after the insight is generated
- If the adjustments were already applied, you'll see a "Changes applied" confirmation instead
- Not all insights include schedule suggestions — some sessions need no changes
The AI suggestion seems wrong
- AI analysis is approximate and based on patterns in your data — it doesn't know about injuries, fatigue, or other factors
- You're never required to apply suggestions. Review them critically and use your own judgment
- If you apply a change and it doesn't feel right, edit your training schedule manually in Settings
